Last shangrila tour in Bhutan begins with sightseeing in the country’s capital, Thimphu, where we visit the memorial chhorten, mini zoo, national institute of traditional medicine, folk heritage museum and the majestic Tashichho Dzong. Bhutan is well thought- out as the last ecstasy on Earth that replicates era and religion, ethnicity, arts and design in the texture of golden peaks in the backdrop of bottomless green valleys and hillside.
Exploring the beautiful Paro valley, we will visit Rinpung Dzong and Kichu Lhakhang temple. And our tour comes to end with a hike to the well known tiger’s nest monastery which is an excellent way to end our tour in the last shangrilla.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Fly to Bhutan Paro from Bangkok or Kathmandu, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Thimphu to Punakha Overnight at Hotel.
 
Day 03: Punakha Sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel.
 
Day 04: Punakha to Phobjikha  Overnight at Hotel.
 
Day 05: Phobjikha to paro. Overnight at Hotel.
 
Day 06: Paro sightseeing , Overnight at Hotel.
 
Day 07: Departure

DETAILS ITINERARY

Day 1

Fly to Bhutan Paro from Bangkok or Kathmandu.

As your flight comes near Bhutan, you can enjoy the views of the Himalayas including the sacred chomolhari and Jichu Drake peaks. Upon your arrival at the airport, our guide will receive you and take you to the hotel in Thimphu. If your flight arrives early then we will arranged few places to visit, Overnight at Hotel, (Meal Included: Lunch & Dinner)

Day 2

​Thimphu to Punakha

After breakfast, we drive to Punakha. If the day is clear then we get spectacular views of the Himalayas. Next, we drive downhill through rhododendron, fir and hemlock forests. On our way, we visit Chimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple dedicated to the Divine madam. After reaching Punakha, we will visit Ounakha Dzong which was built “between” 1637 – 1638 and it is the second oldest and largest Dzong in Bhutan. Overnight at Hotel, (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 3

​Punakha Sightseeing

At morning after breakfast we will visit most beautiful amazing Punakha Dzong (fortress). The Dzong showcase the finest examples of arts and architecture of Bhutan. You can spend some time visiting farm houses and meeting families. You can enjoy your picnic lunch at the side of the river bank. After lunch we can hike further to Khamsum Yuley Lalchang or the temple of Chimi Lakhang, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus. . Overnight at Hotel, (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 4

​Punakha to Phobjikha

Today morning, check out from the hotel and we will drive towards to Phobjikha. This valley is protected for the endangered black necked cranes migration to Bhutan every winter. Then we drive through dense oak and rhododendron forests to Gangtey, a beautiful village surrounded by amazing snowcapped mountains. From here, we enjoy views of the picturesque black mountain ranges as well as the beautiful Phobjikha valley. On the way we visit Ningmapa monastery which is largest in the western Bhutan. Phobjikha valley is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. Stay night at Phobjikha. . Overnight at Hotel, (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 5

​Phobjikha to paro

Today, we are returning back to Paro. After lunch visit paro Dzong on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use. Continue further to stroll around the old Paro town and peep into some local handicrafts stores. We get some opportunity to see some traditional games. . Overnight at Hotel, (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 6

​Paro sightseeing

After breakfast we hike for 4 to 5 hours to Taktsang (Tiger’s nest) monastery, which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery situated at 3,180m. Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where the Taktsang monastery now stands. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria restaurant, located about halfway up to the mountain. After exploring the monastery, we hike down to the valley floor. . Overnight at Hotel, (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 7

​Departure from Paro

Today, we are leaving Paro valley. It’s our farewell day to the tiny Himalayan kingdom and her friendly people therefore, after breakfast. We will be taken to the airport in the morning for final departure. (Meal Included: Breakfast)
