Island Peak Climbing is an admired peak expedition experience in the Everest region of Nepal. Rising 6,189m above the sea level, Island peak is also known ‘Imja Tse’, it is a beautifully located in the middle of Chhukung valley. This Island peak coming down as an extension of the ridge from the southern end of Lhotse Shar, sites like an Island in the sea of ice. Therefore, it was named Island peak by a climbing team of Eric Shipton in 1953. This peak is the best trekking peaks for adventure climbing.

DETAILS ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive at Tribhuvan international airport (1300m.)

You are warmly welcome to our country Nepal. On the arrival at international airport, we will address you at airport and bring you to the hotel. First day take rest and at evening you can take a round to the Thamel. At night we host welcome dinner at the one of the delightful Nepalese restaurant with culture program. Overnight at Hotel.  (Meal Included: Dinner)

Day 2

​City tour and trek preparation day (1300m)

Kathmandu valley is one of the most interesting cultural valleys with superb blend of Hinduism and Buddhism and large edifices dedicated to deities of these religious.
First we will visit to the pilgrimage sites of Hindu Pashupatinath Temple, it is one of the most popular and important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is an abode of cremating dreads most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati is offbeat cultural experience. From Pashupati we drive to buddhanath which is nearby Pashupatinath, Buddhanath is the biggest Buddhist monastery in Asia. This stupa is one of the holy stupas for the entire Nepalese Tibetan culture scattered everywhere at Bouddhanath.
Next, we will visit to Kathmandu Durbar square which is known as the Royal Palace of Kathmandu where we can see a lots of temples, Kumari homes(living goddess) and many other extremely fascinating architecture and walk in a freak street nearby Kathmandu Durbar square and last one we will visit to Swayambhunath which is known ‘monkey temple’. Swambhunath is situated at high from where we can see Kathmandu valley. After finishing sightseeing of world heritage places return back to the hotel. At evening time we will talk about our trip plan with our guide. Overnight at Hotel. (Meal Included: Breakfast)

Day 3

​Kathmandu to Lukla by flight (40 min.) & trek to Phakding (2652m), 3/4 hours

We will drive to airport early in the morning to take over flight to Lukla. The scenic 30min flight to Lukla catch the panorama of the peaks of Langtang, Rolwaling and Annapurna Himalayan ranges. Landing at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla on reaching at Lukla airport from here we begin our trek through the prosperous village of Lukla to Phakding.  Today we have a short hike we start our journey by crossing the suspension bridge over the Thulo Koshi River. On the way we can see view of Mt. Kusum Kangru Looming dramatically to the east is wonderful views from the bridge, after crossing the bridge our trek begin to gain altitude gradually to Ghat. Ghat is the Buddhist village with wonderful black mani walls engraved with prayers in white. Finally we reach to Phakding. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 4

Phakding to Namche (3,440m) 6/7 hours.

Trek trail continues north up the Dudh Koshi valley. We need to cross the same river for five times through suspension bridge. The first bridge we cross comes after minutes of walk from our hotel in Namche. After crossing it we trek through the forest trail on the left bank of the river for 35 minutes to Taktak. From here we get to see the magnificent view of Mt. Thameserku 6600m. Almost walking about thirty minutes of gentle walk we reach to Banker, then we cross the second bridge over Dudh Koshi River while making our way out of Banker. Trekking on the right bank of river on the stony trail that goes uphill and down like the waves and we arrive to Manjo. Walking through the typical Sherpa village, we arrive to the entrance of Sagarmatha Park. Trek downhill for twenty minutes on the stony trail to the river cross the bridge third time and arrive to Jorsale. Again we cross the forth bridge and trek along the right bank of the river for forty minutes we arrive at Larja Doban. At Larja Doban we sight the confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi River. There are two elevated bridge at larja Doban. We cross the higher one and begin the uphill on the stony trail towards Namche. Walking about to 1 and half hrs of trek we arrive to Top danda. We trek uphill for the next ninety minutes through pine forest to Namche.  Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 5

Acclimatization & Namche Bazzar exploring day.

Today we will take rest at Namche Bazzar. Rest day during trek means to hike to higher elevation and trek down bank for proper acclimatization. We will walk up to the Everest view Hotel, which lies at the altitude of 3880m. 2.5hrs of uphill hike on the stony trails of open hill brings us to Everest view Hotel. Savor the views of Thameserku, Kusum, Kantega, Lhotse and Ama Dablam among others from the site. Trekking down back to Namche on the same trail is easy 1.5hrs walk.
Rest of the time you can explore Namche Bazaar, visit its Sherpa museum great place to learn Sherpa culture and history of mountaineering and if this happens to be Saturday, you would have a wonderful local market at Namche Bazaar.
It is interesting and a wonderful experience to understand how the locals exchange their goods or buy the necessary stuffs from the market itself. Namche Bazaar, itself is a tourist shopping hub with all the required trekking and mountaineering clothing and equipment. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 6

​Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3,867m) 5/6 hours.

After having breakfast at the lodge in Namche bazaar, we continue to follow the trail along the hastening glacier water of the Dodh Koshi. From Namche Bazaar it is an easy walk from Namche to Phunki. Upon reaching Phunki, we ascend towards Tengboche, a village that houses the very famous Tengboche monastery which is the largest monastery of the Everest region. Located amidst the Sagarmatha National Park, it is draped with the panoramic 360degree view of the Himalayas,including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku and is also the biggest monastery in the khumbu region, our guide will take you to visit the monastery surrounding and stay at Tengboche. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 7

​Trek to Dingbuche (4,358m) 5/6 hours.

After breakfast at Tengboche we will start our journey of this day. The trail descends down winding through the rhododendron forest. Crossing a bridge over the raging Imja River beyond Devoche we arrive the valley wall and then traverse to the plains of Pangboche village which is the biggest Sherpa village of Khumbu. Here we have great chance to see the typical Sherpa people, culture and traditions. We will go to visit the monastery over to hill at Pangboche probably the oldest monastery of Khumbu. After walking about 30minutes through the village and hike for an hour and we reach to the open valley to Somare 4040m. Somare is the treeline border during high altitude treks in Everest Region. Climbing continuity on a uphill trail through the glacial moraines and yak grazing lands for two and half hrs and inally we reach to Dingboche.  Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 8

​Acclimatization & Dingbuche exploring day.

Today, we take rest at Dingboche we will explore to the surrounding of Dingboche. From here we can have exquisite views of Lhotse, Island peak and Ama Dublam. You can also observe the Imja River that flows directly east of the village. You will also be surprised to see an internet café and one of the world’s highest billiards parlors. Therefore, this place offers some of the hest options to spend your day. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 9

​Dingbuche to Chhukung (4,730m) 3/4hrs.

After having breakfast, we start of day walking towards the east of the Chhukung valley through stone walled fields, Imja Khola valley. The rocky trail is overshadowed by the beautiful views of Mt. Lhotse and Ama Dablam. On reaching Chhukung, we check into the lodge and meet our climbing guide. Our guide will brief you regarding the following climb. We reach Chhukung, a small settlement in about half an hour from Bibre. From here, directly across the valley is the fantastic Ama Dablam and the Amphu Labsa mountains. Overnight at Guest House. Day 10

​Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5,200m) 3/4hrs.

Today is another short trek of 3 to 4hrs to the Island Peak Base Camp. The trek to Island Peak Base camp is on a fairly steep trail. We exit out of the village and climb steeply up to the south turn east to enter the main trail into Chhukung valley. Continue short pleasant walking along a streamside that leads to the Big-rock. At this point the route to the Amphu Lapcha pass stretches on the southeast direction; however, we tread the trail on the north. A moderately challenging trail cross passes Imja and Lhitse glacier moraines that leads you to a wide valley flanking island peak where we will det up our base camp. Overnight at tented camp. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 11

​Island Base camp to High Camp (5,600m), 3/4hrs.

This morning we pack our camping stuffs and we will proceed towards the high Camp from where we start our Island Peak climbing Adventure. As we climb the hill, you will see the slope narrows and the path enters a steep rock channel nearby where we’ll overnight at camp. The High Camp itself offers the spectacular views of lofty pinnacle and glacier surrounding the Island Peak. Overnight at tented camp. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 12

​Island peak Summit (6,189m) and return back to Chhukung 8/9hrs.

Early morning through the rock gully we start our climb. This is not difficult but there are several short rocks steps to climb before you emerge on the right side of the drain. The route follows a ridgeline, which leads to an exhilarating and exposed traverse on to the snout of the summit glacier. You will need to rope up for the glacier as it contains several crevasses but it leads without difficulty to a snow and ice slope on which the guide will fix a rope. From the top of this slope, 3 rope lengths along a sharp summit ridge lead to the top. You can enjoy with success of getting a summit and after taking some pictures and savoring the scenic view you will descend all the way to Chhukung. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Day 13

​Reserve day, in case of bad weather

If weather is not favorable we have to stay one more day here, otherwise we will continue our journey. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 14

​Chhukung to Tenboche (3,867m) 6/7hrs.

Today, our trek comes down from Chhukung following towards Pangboche. After this, we take some trail back which is used to trek up. The trail comes all the way down to river. We cross the river and take an hour walk up through the forest to reach to Tenboche. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 15

​Tenboche to Namche (3,440m), 4/5hrs.

From Tenboche we are returning back to Namche. Leaving the mountains behind our descend tail takes us from Tengboche Monastry to the town of Namche Bazaar. We arrive back at Namche Bazaar in the afternoon; after five hours walk. We will enjoy an evening of talking with follow trekkers. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 16

​Namche to Lukla (2800m) 6/7hrs.

After the breakfast, we continue our walk downhill from Namche toward the second bridge across the DudhKoshi River. Then we walk towards Manjo where on fulfilling the formalities at the check post of the National Park at Monjo, we continue our walk towards Phakding and continue the trail that leads us to Lukla along this flat trail you can enjoy prayer stones, rhododendron and pine forest, prayer flags, Sherpa village as well as open plains. Overnight at Guest House. (Meal Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 17

Lukla to Kathmandu by flight (1,300m).

Finally, we are returning back to Kathmandu our flights is in the morning for Kathmandu from Lukla after breakfast at Lukla hotel, we will check in to the airport and take your flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel you will have free time to relax, freshen up and rest. Overnight at Hotel. (Meal Included: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 18

​Final Departure

Today you will depart from Kathmandu one of your company representatives will assist you to get to the airport as per your flight departure time. If your flight is scheduled late in the evening. then you can also go for shopping to buy something for your family and friends.  (Meal Included: Breakfast)
