Your Health and Experience Level for the Expedition
Preparation for Your Health
Before embarking on the expedition, all participants will receive pre-trip medical advice and a medical questionnaire. They will be encouraged to visit their family physician for a comprehensive medical examination. The information shared will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and will only be accessible to the expedition leader and our medical adviser.
Level of Experience Required
The expedition offers a unique opportunity to traverse varied terrains and make multiple ascents on peaks of moderate elevation. Participants should possess a background in basic mountaineering or have a history of physical exercise that can be applied to energetic trekking and moderate altitude mountaineering, which form an integral part of this journey. For those lacking experience, instruction in mountaineering will be provided to ensure the acquisition of necessary skills before commencing the climbing portion.
Technical Difficulty and Difficulty Rating
Each ascent during the expedition entails a certain degree of technical climbing, where the use of equipment such as crampons, ice axes, and fixed ropes may be required. Our trips are individually rated based on their physical and technical difficulty. The rating is displayed through icons on the trip page, accompanied by a question mark for additional descriptions. For a comprehensive understanding of our grading system, please refer to our Difficulty Rating page.
Conclusion: A Balanced Approach to Health and Experience
Your health and well-being are of utmost importance to us. We prioritize providing you with necessary medical advice and ensuring your physical preparedness. While the expedition demands a certain level of experience in basic mountaineering or physical fitness, we also offer instruction to bridge any gaps in skills. Our difficulty rating system further helps you gauge the challenges associated with each trip. By maintaining this balanced approach, we aim to create a safe and fulfilling expedition experience for all participants.
