Travel over Darjeeling, Gangtok and Kalimpong, three of the most famous journey in the eastern Himalayas. Darjeeling with the 8’586 meter Mount Khangchendzonga looming over the northern horizon is hemmed in by Sikkim in the north. Darjeeling is known as the “queen of the hills” and gives its name to the celebrated Darjeeling tea. We enjoy riding Himalayan Railway in Darjeeling which is known as a world heritage Railway by the UNESCO. This train is one most marked examples of Darjeeling’s British raj influence. The most popular charm of Darjeeling is the sunrise from the Tiger Hill. Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Sikkim are also well known for the tour destination, it takes about 4 hours to reach Gangtok of Sikkim. While driving from Darjeeling to Sikkim we need to pass through winding up- hill mountain road with the view of scenic hills. On the way we can see some popular Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Gangtok, which are main attraction to the Buddhists.
Our tour will start from the Darjeeling and which way you come to Darjeeling depends upon from where you are traveling. Core trek’s local representative will greet you at Bhadrapur airport which lies in Nepal border, if you are coming via Nepal or at Phuentsholing if you are coming via Bhutan or at Bagdogra airport, if you are flying Siliguri, our local representative will meet you at the respective station.

Day 1

Arrival in Darjeeling

After your arrival in Darjeeling your tour begins. In the morning, meet the representative member at Phutshaling or Bhadrapur airport (Nepal border) and Bagdogra airport (flight connects from Delhi to Kalkota) then transfer to Darjeeling. Stay night at hotel.

Day 2

​Darjeeling sightseeing

We start our day with short excursion to tiger hill at early morning to see the view of sunrise over. Mt. kanchendzonga then return back to the hotel. On the way we will visit Yiga- Choling, then, we will take breakfast after it we stroll around Darjeeling for sightseeing on following day, we will visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, inhabited by rare representative of Himalayan fauna; Siberian tiger, Himalayan back bear, red panda, snow leopard and many more other animals and bird species. Then our next visit will be at Himalayan mountaineering institute, Tibetan Refugee self- help center, also known as a major center for the production of Tibetan carpets, woodwork and leather goods and famous tea garden and tea factory of Darjeeling.

Day 3

​Drive to Gangtok

Today after taking breakfast, we will start our drive towards to Gabgtok. Driving about 4-5 hrs from Darjeeling we reach to Gangtok. Stay night at hotel.

Day 4

​Gangtok sightseeing

Today early morning after taking breakfast we make our excursion at Tashi view point, near about 8km from Gangtok. Amazing view of Khanchendzonga and the Siniolchu range is the main attraction of this point. Driving little distance north, Sikkim monasteries along the north Sikkim highway are also visible from this point. After taking short excursion, we return back to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast we will visit Directorate of Handicrafts and handlooms established by government to promote the manufacturing and selling of authentic and traditional arts and handicraft; shawls and blankets in “Lepcha” weaves, thankas, wooden decoration etc. Then we will visit Enchely monastery. it is said that this small hermitage was built by Lama Druptob karpo after he flew at this place from Maenam hill in south Sikkim more than 200 years ago. Then next visit is to at Research institute of Tibet logy, a world- renowned research center for Tibetan Buddhism. In this institute showcase there are rare collections of antique like statues, antic manuscripts, thangkas etc. And in the evening we will visit Rumtek monastery which lies near about 24km from Gangtok. The 1st monastery was built in 1717 by Chogyal Gyurmed  Namgyal, and it was destroyed by the earthquake. And Gyalwa karmapa constructed the second monastery in 1960. Stay night in the hotel.

Day 5

​Drive to Kalimpong

A day after staying in Gangtok, today we will move to Kalimpong after taking breakfast. We will drive about 80 km from Gangtok to kalimpong. Kalimpong is a small town established for the trade with Bhutan and Tibet by India. Stay night at hotel.

Day 6

Kalimpong sightseeing

Today we will visit Kalimpong. At Kalimpong there are few Tibetan Buddhist Gompas. Among them there are Tharpa Choling Gompa Durbin monastery and many more sightseeing places like Dello view point and Haat bazaar.

Day 7


Today morning after breakfast we will move to Phuntsholing or Bhadrapur airport (Nepal Border) or Bagdogra airport (Flight connects from Delhi and Kolkata) for our flight for onward tour. With an excellent memories tour of Sikkim, kalimpong and Darjeeling makes us unforgettable.
