01: ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP THE SHORTEST WAYS
The shortest and most straightforward route of a week trek to Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary. Suitable for a strong physically fit person to cover this trek in good times of seven days from Pokhara to Pokhara.
Most treks around the southern hills and inner region of Annapurna Himalayas start from scenic Pokhara city. An exciting drive leads beyond Pokhara city and the valley outskirt reaching the end of a motorable road near Jhinu village.
Climb and cross the bridge to Jhinu village, and walk uphill to a large Gurung village at Chomrong 2,150 m. The last permanent village en route ABC is a frequent stopover for trekkers going up or on the way back.
From Chomrong walk leads down and up through a dense forest towards Bamboo a small settlement with several simple lodges. Walk follows the Modi River upstream on the high trails to Dovan 2,130 m from Bamboo 2,050 m.
The next morning walk up to MBC (Machhapuchare Base Camp), past Himalaya Hotel and Deurali, after leaving the tall tree lines. A steep up to MBC at 3,720 m, located beneath the towering North Face of Machhapuchare Himal, the famous Fish-Tail peak. MBC is the entrance of the beautiful and picturesque Annapurna Sanctuary where a walk leads you to ABC. Enjoy the stupendous wide panorama of towering snow-capped peaks in the heart of the Annapurna Himalayas staying in a nice lodge. Return journey on the same route with much downhill with few short climb to Chomrong and then towards Jhinu village. A place with a natural hot spring to enjoy a refreshing dip and bathe in the hot, warm pools. The next morning a short walk and drive back to Pokhara, on completing the shortest, fastest ways to Annapurna Base Camp.
02: ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP WITH POON HILL
A great combination covering the scenic mid and high green hills of Southern Annapurna Himalayas. Trekking around the best of Annapurna region to high Poon Hill, and then entering the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary. A wonderful adventure with a blend of the best highlights, and scenic and cultural treks of 10 days from Pokhara to Pokhara.
An interesting drive leads to the foothills of the Annapurna Himalayas, with a climb to Ulleri village at 2,045 m / 6,709 ft. From Ulleri village onwards on gradual ups through beautiful rhododendron and pine forest to Ghorepani village 2,885 m. Ghorepani and Poon Hill is a popular moderate trek for people enjoying short walks of a few days.
The next morning an hour’s climb to Poon Hill at 3,210 m, rewards with a stunning sunrise over the world’s three highest peaks. Namely Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, and Annapurna massif range of peaks with majestic Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish-Tail peak’. From Ghorepani adventure continues towards the final destination to Annapurna Base Camp, taking a high trail amidst a lovely rhododendron forest.
Reaching Tadapani at 2,640 m high, a small settlement where the route to ABC diverts heading due North-East. The trail leads downhill and ups to Chomrong village the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and ABC. From Chomrong, the trek on leaving villages following the Modi River upstream to MBC and towards the last phase of the adventure. Finally reaching the highest point of the trek at Annapurna Base Camp, standing amidst towering snow-capped peaks.

Return journey on the same route to Chomrong village, where the walk diverts from the earlier trail downhill to Jhinu village. A great place where one can enjoy a refreshing dip in a natural hot spring. From Jhinu the trek ends, then a short exciting drive takes you back to lovely Pokhara, where the whole trip concludes.
03: AN ALTERNATIVE ROUTE TO ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP
An alternative and original old route to Annapurna base camp and Sanctuary a total duration of 09 days. Starting from the lovely city of Pokhara and the ending point of the great adventure Annapurna Base Camp. The trek begins by taking a drive to Kande or Dhampus villages. From Dhampus enjoy the magnificent panorama of Annapurna and Manaslu Himalayas. Then a few hour’s walk to Potana 1,900 m for an overnight stop.
If taking the route to Kande village a climb up to Australian Camp or Thulo Kharka facing superb mountain views. Where walk heads to Potana village also for an overnight halt facing views of towering Machhapuchare Himal.
From here onwards both routes walk lead to Deurali hilltop, and then downhill to Landruk village. The next day walks towards Jhinu village crossing a bridge over the Modi River and then climbing up to Chomrong village.
After Chomrong, here all trail joins towards Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary, the walk follows the main path to Modi River. The walk leads through a river gorge then the narrow corridor opens up into a wide valley. The adventure continues walking past Deurali and then up to MBC to enter a scenic and picturesque Annapurna Sanctuary. Slowly the gradual path ends reaching the foot of Annapurna-I at base camp, enclosed by giant snow peaks.
Enjoy the marvelous scenic arctic zone landscapes of ice, snow, and glaciers at the base camp. The return journey down and up to Chomrong and descent to low warmer farmland. Just before the drive back to Pokhara, an enjoyable time at Jhinu in a natural hot spring. The next morning a short walk and then an exciting drive to Pokhara to conclude the adventure of a lifetime experience to Annapurna Base Camp.
