The monasteries are located in mostly around the peaceful area far from the city’s hassle.
Amongst many, we will be visiting Kopan Monastery and Namo Buddha Monastery to start our Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour in Nepal. Kopan Monastery is situated on the Kopan hill, just north of the ancient Buddhist town of Boudhanath. The monastery is dominated by a magnificent Bodhi tree. It is home to more than 250 monks and was officially opened in 2008 as a school for young monks. The place is beautifully designed and painted attracting thousands of visitors annually.
To wrap up our tour in Kathmandu, we will be visiting Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Boudhanath Stupa. Bhaktapur Durbar Square, located about half an hour drive away from Kathmandu, is a reflection of Newari arts and architecture. The square contains some of the historic designs. Whereas, Patan Durbar Square is famous due to the fact that royal Malla Kings used to reside there. The square is filled with temples such as Krishna Mandir, Bhimsen temple and more. And for our final Kathmandu pilgrimage, we will be touring Boudhanath Stupa. The stupa is rich in Buddhist symbolism considered as the largest stupa in Nepal. It is situated on the eastern side of Kathmandu.
Our next destination will be Lumbini via Pokhara. On our way to Lumbini, we will be visiting Sarankot for the golden sunrise which is located only a few kilometres from Pokhara. I didn’t have much time to prepare in detail, and I wasn’t sure about the weather, so I left everything to the last minute. In the end, everything turned out great! Before the trip, I met with Neem, who helped me buy an eSIM (though Ncell doesn’t work as well in the mountains as Namaste). It’s not as easy to get one in Kathmandu as you might think!I also had a wonderful guide, Bhim, who took care of everything for me, so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. He even bought fruit for me, knowing better which ones were ripe. The choice of teahouses wasn’t fixed in advance, and it was nice that he let me decide — although, even then, I preferred to rely on his experience. In short, the trip was a success, and I truly recommend this company and these people.Agi from UK.Posted on Katarzyna SVerified Amazing experience We would like to thank you very much for organizing a wonderful trip.
