Chandragiri Hills And Heritage Sightseeing Tour In Nepal

A day tour to Chandragiri Hills is an amazing idea to spend your time during your travel to Kathmandu. Chandragiri Hill is a hilltop on the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley. The hilltop is a famous place in Kathmandu for two main reasons. One is being the only cable car ride in Kathmandu and the other is the hilltop itself. We start our day trip as we'll pick you up from your hotel when you're done having your breakfast. After an hour-long ride from your hotel, we'll reach the cable car station from where we'll be going up towards the hilltop. There are resorts, restaurants, and even a zip line at the hilltop. Our next travel destination for the day will be the infamous Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple which is listed as one of the world heritage sites in Kathmandu by UNESCO. This temple in Kathmandu lies in the heart of the city as hundreds or thousands of people visit this site every day. It indeed is a very famous place in Kathmandu. This temple is a very sacred place for worship for Buddhists all over the world. One can observe large statues of Buddha, monasteries, and gompas in this stupa. The Stupa lies on a hilltop and has a perfect vantage point from where the whole Kathmandu valley can be seen in its beauty and grandeur. We have already seen the valley from Chandragiri hilltop but this place offers the view of the Kathmandu valley from a very different angle. Be careful to hide your snacks and drinks at the monkeys here are rated as grade-A snatchers.

We then finally travel to Kathmandu Durbar Square, our final destination of the day. This historic place in Kathmandu is another world heritage site in Kathmandu which consists of ancient palaces, temples, and the Hanumandhoka Museum, name derived from the statue of a Hindu god named Hanuman. This Palace in Kathmandu dates back to the 3rd century during the Licchavi period however it became the capital of Kantipur city during the rule of Malla Kingdom after becoming independent. It has unique pagoda style architecture which used to be the prominent architecture of ancient Nepal. The Durbar Square also contains quadrangles, revealing courtyards, and several temples. The architecture, beautiful carvings artifacts, and historic landmarks set this place apart. We spend some time looking at this historic site in Kathmandu and head back to the hotel as our day trip comes to an end.
