Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our team member will receive and welcome you with a warm smile. You are then transported to hotel. After getting fresh, you can explore the nearby locations. Or, you can take a day’s rest. Besides, exploring the Thamel area at night can be entertaining. You will eat traditional Nepali cuisine for dinner. We will also have a brief meeting on Everest Base Camp helicopter return trek.

Flight To Lukla From Kathmandu, Then Trek To Phakding

After having breakfast in the morning, our guide will take you to the airport. From there, we will take a 20-minute flight to Luka. It is one of the most convenient ways to explore the scenic beauty of Nepal. Alternatively, if you want to explore the surroundings of Nepal, you can take a drive. For this, you can drive from Manthali to Ramechhap, which can take 5 to 6 hours. Upon reaching Ramechhap, you can take a 20-minute flight to Lukla.

If the flight gets canceled or delayed, we will arrange a helicopter ride to Lukla. So, no matter the flight conditions, we will go to Lukla on the second day. After we land at Lukla, we will start our leg journey. We will start our hike to Phakding, which takes around 3 to 4 hours. The hiking route offers scenic beaut

Important Note: Lukla flights have been diverted to Ramechap instead of Kathmandu according to the recent notice from the Aviation Authority. The drive from Kathmandu to Ramechap is about to 5 hours (140 k.m) via B.P. Highway. Depart for Ramechap early in the morning to catch the first flight to Lukla. After an overnight stay, our next-day journey starts. It is a scenic passage through the heart of the Himalayas. The trail passes through lush forests, and we cross many suspension bridges adorned with colorful players’ flags. As you move forward, you will notice striking views of snow-clad mountains like Tamserku and Kusum Kanguru.

Moving forward, we will pass a Sherpa village in Monjo. Here, we experience the diverse culture and traditions of the local people. The final scend to Namche Bazaar is quite challenging but rewarding. Namche Bazaar is a bustling mountain town offering cozy teahouses, lively markets, and stunning panoramas of Everest and Ama Dablam.

Acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar is crucial for trekking to Everest Base Camp. Located at an elevation of 3440 meters, Namche is the perfect place to allow your body to adjust to the higher altitude. Since today is a rest day, you can also opt for short hikes to higher elevations. Stop by Everest View Hotel or Khumjung Village and return to Namche Bazaar overnight.

You will make a final hike to Lobuche, where you will have basic accommodation options. At an altitude of 4910 m, Lobuche is a resting point before the final push to EBC. It’s a challenging yet rewarding trek day, bringing you closer to your destination.

Lobuche To Gorakshep & Trek To Everest Base Camp, EBC To Gorakshep

This is the thrilling and iconic segment of the Everest Base Camp: 9 Days. After we depart from Lobuche, we will pass through the rocky terrain of the Khumbu Glacier, along with the views of towering peaks. Ascending forward, we reach Gorakshep,  the last settlement before EBC. Finally, with some ascending, we will reach Everest Base Camp. The EBC provides expansive views of the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding mountains, including Everest.

After spending some time at Everest Base Camp and taking beautiful pictures, we return to Gorakshep. The final day of the Everest Base Camp is challenging due to the high altitude and rugged terrain. However, the sense of achievement and the awe-inspiring scenery make it an unforgettable experience.

Today is the last day of our leg day. We ascend the steep trail to Kalapatthar, a renowned vantage point of the trek. It is the highest point of trek to the Base Camp. Kalapatthar provides some of the finest vantage points of Everest, Lhotse, and other Himalayan peaks. The major highlight is the sunrise from Kalapatthar.

We then return to Gorakshep, where the helicopter is waiting for us and return back to Lukla. Taking a helicopter is a popular option for trekkers seeking to shorten their return journey for EBC. The helicopter ride back offers a swift and scenic alternative to the multitrack trek back through Namche Bazaar and Phakding. The flight provides a bird-eye view of the rugged mountain landscapes.
