Flight To Lukla
Lukla Airport, also known as Tenzing Hillary Airport, is located at an elevation of 2,846 meters (9,337 feet). The flight to Lukla is highly dependent on weather conditions, requiring favorable weather both at the departure and arrival airports. To account for potential disruptions caused by weather, we recommend allocating an additional two days at the end of your trek as a contingency plan. This ensures that adverse weather conditions do not cause you to miss your international flights.

Due to the unpredictable nature of weather conditions, it’s essential for favorable weather to prevail not only in Kathmandu and Lukla but also along the entire flight route. Additionally, flight delays can occur due to inclement weather, leading to a backlog of tourists waiting for their flights. To address these challenges, an alternative airport, Ramechhap Airport, has been introduced for flights to Lukla.
Ramechhap Airport offers closer proximity to Lukla compared to Kathmandu and generally experiences more favorable weather conditions, resulting in fewer flight delays. However, one drawback is that Ramechhap Airport is located approximately an hour’s drive from Kathmandu. Travelers need to take an organized night bus to Ramechhap in time for the early morning flight to Lukla. Buses usually depart from Kathmandu around 3 am. While this additional adventure provides an opportunity to experience new scenery, if you have any concerns or doubts, please feel free to inquire with us.
We understand the importance of a smooth and reliable journey to Lukla, and we are here to assist you in making the necessary arrangements and addressing any questions or concerns you may have.
Importance Of Travel Insurance For Everest Luxury Trek
Travel insurance is essential for any trip, especially when trekking in remote locations like Everest. This type of insurance provides coverage for various potential incidents that can arise during travel, offering peace of mind and financial protection.
A comprehensive travel insurance policy typically includes coverage for medical emergencies, ensuring that you will have access to necessary medical treatment if unforeseen health issues occur while trekking. This is particularly crucial in high-altitude environments, where altitude sickness or other altitude-related ailments can occur. Additionally, having coverage for medical evacuations is essential in case urgent transportation is required to a medical facility with appropriate facilities.
In addition to medical coverage, travel insurance protects against trip cancellations or interruptions. Suppose unforeseen circumstances force you to cancel or cut short your luxury treks, such as illness, family emergencies, or natural disasters. In that case, travel insurance can reimburse you for non-refundable expenses and help mitigate financial losses.
Another valuable aspect of travel insurance is coverage for lost or stolen luggage. Trekking in remote areas means being away from the security of urban settings, making the risk of lost or stolen belongings higher. Travel insurance can provide compensation for the value of lost or stolen items, minimizing the impact on your trip.
Considering the unique challenges and risks associated with high-altitude trekking, it is strongly advised that travelers obtain a travel insurance policy tailored to their specific needs. Look for a policy that explicitly covers high-altitude trekking and other activities planned during the Everest luxury trek. By doing so, you can ensure comprehensive coverage for any unexpected events, allowing you to focus on enjoying your journey to the fullest with peace of mind.

Culture And Religious Beliefs
Sherpas are the indigenous inhabitants of the Everest region, known for their bravery, hard work, and dedication. Tourism and travel are major parts of their livelihood. However, Sherpas also have a deep-rooted practice of Buddhism and hold their religious beliefs in high regard. It is crucial to respect and adhere to their customs and regulations. If you are unfamiliar with their practices, take the time to learn or simply ask for guidance. Here are some important things to keep in mind:
- Walk clockwise around a temple: When visiting a temple or religious site, always move in a clockwise direction as a sign of respect and adherence to Buddhist tradition.
- Seek permission for photography: It is considered polite to ask for permission before taking photographs, especially in sacred or religious areas. Respect the privacy and sacredness of the surroundings.
- Proper disposal of waste: Dispose of any unused items or trash in designated bins. Keep the environment clean and refrain from littering.
- Obtain permission to enter a monastery: Monasteries hold significant religious and spiritual value to Sherpas. Before entering a monastery, seek permission from the appropriate authorities or monks present.
- Show respect to prayer flags: Prayer flags are sacred symbols of blessings and protection. Never disrespect or disturb them. Avoid touching or removing prayer flags, and be mindful not to walk beneath them.
By respecting Sherpa customs and religious practices, you contribute to a harmonious and culturally sensitive experience in the Everest region. Engaging in open and respectful communication with the local Sherpa community will enhance your understanding and appreciation of their rich cultural heritage.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp is a popular adventure that lets trekkers experience the beauty of the Himalayas and see Mount Everest up close. I didn’t have much time to prepare in detail, and I wasn’t sure about the weather, so I left everything to the last minute. In the end, everything turned out great! Before the trip, I met with Neem, who helped me buy an eSIM (though Ncell doesn’t work as well in the mountains as Namaste). It’s not as easy to get one in Kathmandu as you might think!I also had a wonderful guide, Bhim, who took care of everything for me, so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. He even bought fruit for me, knowing better which ones were ripe. The choice of teahouses wasn’t fixed in advance, and it was nice that he let me decide — although, even then, I preferred to rely on his experience. In short, the trip was a success, and I truly recommend this company and these people.Agi from UK.Posted on Katarzyna SVerified Amazing experience We would like to thank you very much for organizing a wonderful trip.
