Mountains, Dust And Rock’n’Roll

  • profile Vieh

My first ride to Lower Mustang was something truly different. It felt like riding through a desert surrounded by snowy Himalayan peaks. We started early after a tasty breakfast, and everything was planned so well we got on the road quickly.
I got to ride my tempo with a few friends and explore more when we arrived earlier than expected. We found small villages with warm ovens and even tasted yak milk tea, which was a nice surprise. The roads changed from dusty to icy, but one of our team members guided us through safely.
The colors of the villages against the snow were beautiful, and the food in this region was even better than what I’ve had at trekking tea houses. Even when one bike broke down in the middle of nowhere, the group stayed calm and positive. Riding through the Himalayas was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had on a bike.
