The average daytime temperature does not fall beyond negative degrees in the circuit. Temperature falls beyond negative degrees at night in Chame, Pisang, Manang, and Thorung La Pass. May and June mark the pre-monsoon period in Nepal. Starting in mid-June, the monsoon wind causes torrential rainfall throughout the country. Hence, the pre-monsoon period is suitable to avoid the hardships of the rainy season. Trekking in the pre-monsoon period provides a unique experience. Temperature hovers around 15°C and above once you pass Besi Sahar. It gradually drops to 3-5°C until you reach Thorung La Pass.

The weather during May and June is relatively cozy. The average daytime temperature is around 15°C – 20°C in Chame, Pisang, Tatopani, and Pokhara. Further, the days start to get warmer as the months progress. The daytime is sunnier with clear pre-monsoon skies. It is easier to navigate the trails during this period. Yet, you might experience sporadic rain showers on your journey. The climate remains favorable in this season.

Weather in Annapurna Circuit- July and August 

Nepal experiences heavy rainfall in July and August due to monsoon wind. The monsoon season peaks in July. Torrential downpours are common during this period. However, the monsoon rain majorly affects the Eastern part of the country. The Annapurna Base Camp Circuit can be trekked during the monsoon season thanks to its geography and location in the western half.

A significant chunk of the trek routes falls in the rain-shadow Mustang-Manang region. Hence, minimal rainfall is expected in the Northern half of the trek. Places like Chame, Manang, and Thorung La Pass receive minimal rainfall. Trekkers can choose to explore solely the Northern circuit. In contrast, heavy rainfall affects the lower/southern region of the trek like Pokhara. Landslides, mudslides, avalanches, etc., are common during the monsoon season. During these months, the temperature is mild, at 15-20°C during the day. The temperature might drop down below 5°C in places like Thorung La Phedi and Thorung La Pass. Manang, Thorung La Phedi, and Thorung La Pass mightexperience negative temperatures at night. It gets colder as the nights grow longer. The biggest Nepali festival, Dashain, falls during this period. Weather in Annapurna Circuit- November and December 

Following the busy period, winter starts to make its presence felt after October. Although the weather remains favorable until early November, the temperature begins to fall beyond that. You might experience snowfall in the northern region of the trail. The days start to get shorter and cloudy. Shorter daylight hours may need itinerary adjustments. Also, trekkers need to obtain information about blocked routes beforehand.

The average temperature ranges from 5-8°C during the day.  It can get cold at night with the temperature dropping below the negative degree. Places like Thorung La and Manang experience freezing nights with temperatures reaching -20°C.  As you ascend the altitude, the temperature drops further.
